Phil
started racing at the old Ballarat Airport track on
a GS750 in 1980, racing two full seasons before building
his first race bike. After 10 seasons, the old bike
was sold and a GS1000 lay down bike was purchased. In
1991, he built a modified bike was using a GS1000
frame and motor and upgraded to a GSX1100 after the
1992 Nationals (picture left)

When Phil's son Sam turned 18, he took over the ridding duties
on the mod bike while Phil concentrated on a new bike
- a GSX1166
Turbo machine (pictured right). While searching for a
gearbox that would handle to turbo power - Phil
discovered another turbo Suzuki that had the gearbox
already in it and an all important chrome-moly chassis
that would allow him to compete in Top Bike.
Phil
recently had the opportunity to purchase his dream
machine, a supercharged nitro-burning four cylinder top
bike. 'Gracie' as the bike is called has been a great
bike to the Family Parker Racing team bringing phil his
first 7 very quickly and recently re-set his personal
bests to 7.48 seconds and 180mph. Phil is hoping to take
this bike into the six second zone at 200mph.
